Nous Research's open-source (MIT) agent that runs where you already work — CLI, native desktop app for macOS/Windows/Linux, Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Signal and email. Since the 2026-08-03 Herald release it also does real-time conversational voice with wake words, agent-to-agent handoff and research with citations. Model-agnostic and usage-priced.
Hermes Agent is Nous Research's open-source agent that runs in your terminal, a desktop app or chat apps like Telegram and Discord. It is free to self-host; the paid part is the model API and optional hosted instances, both billed by usage.
